and Where Peace Lives.
(Write your school/organizations name on line above)
In order to facilitate the mural project, the signing organization and Where Peace Lives, Inc. (WPL) agree to...
Within fields that are mutually acceptable, the following legally binding logistics will be followed:
¥ WPL will coordinate with the signing organization the purchase of materials required for the mural project for this location which include: 2 canvas panels, 4Õ x 8Õ each, stretcher bars, paint brushes, gesso, and acrylic paints. If the signing organization needs to purchase the items on their own they should just let WPL know. All other materials will be the sole responsibility of the signing organization to purchase. All materials will be stored at the signing organization and are the responsibility of the signing organization to safeguard. The signing
organization retains all materials it has purchased with its own funding.
¥ WPL will supply the conflict resolution and peace art activity planner for the project.
¥ School board/administrators may review and approve the conflict resolution and peace art activity manual. While there is some flexibility in the use of the manual, in order to maintain continuity with the murals, some parts of the manual will be mandatory. Those parts that are mandatory will be marked as such in the manual.
¥ The signing organization is responsible for having a supervisor (faculty person) present for all sessions working with students. Appointed faculty person or coordinator is responsible for being present at all sessions when scheduled. No volunteer from WPL will be left alone with the students/youth at any time.
¥ The signing organization will conduct the mural program in a school setting or organizational setting to be determined and agreed upon by both parties, whether before, during, or after school.
¥ The signing organization agrees to allow their mural to be entered into an international exchange program and/or a traveling exhibit following a four month period during which time it will be hung until being entered into the exchange.
¥ The signing organization agrees to obtain model release forms from each participating student for any video or photos taken during course of project. WPL agrees to use the video or photos only for purposes related to WPL and the International Peace Mural Project which includes but is not limited to internet and DVD distribution. This is only applied where applicable and will not be for all schools and organizations.
¥ WPL retains the rights to use ALL images from murals for purposes of promotion, marketing, and fund raising
activities. This has no limitation on use and school waives its rights to deny use of images for above.
¥ The signing organization agrees to be in regular communication with WPL via email, internet or phone during the program by sending pictures of the children working on the activities and sending regular written updates on the progress of the mural. This should be weekly or bi-weekly.
¥ WPL agrees to be available via email, internet and phone, to answer any and all questions or problems that may arise during the process of doing the activities and creating the mural.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to express the intentions of the Parties. The terms of cooperation for each specific activity contemplated under this Memorandum of Understanding shall be mutually discussed and agreed upon in writing by both parties prior to the initiation of that activity. Each institution shall designate a liaison officer to develop and coordinate the specific activities agreed upon. This Memorandum of Understanding imposes no financial obligations on either party. Both institutions understand that all financial arrangements will have to be negotiated and will depend on the availability of funds. This Memorandum of Understanding will remain current for five years with the understanding that either party may terminate it by giving the other party twelve monthsÕ written notice, unless an earlier termination is mutually agreed upon. Each party recognizes that the other party has, may have or will have arrangements of a similar or different nature with other institutions whether in each partyÕs respective countries or elsewhere in the world, during the currency of this Memorandum of Understanding.
Each party shall keep confidential any information that it receives from the other party which is marked confidential or which a party notifies the other party as confidential.
